About
Sam and Oliver is named in honor of my two sweet boys.
I've had some wonderful pets in my life. But Sam and Oliver have touched my heart in a profound way. Sam and Oliver were born at my neighbors. At two weeks, Oliver, the runt, was not thriving. They brought him over to me (I had bottle fed kittens before). Oliver had to get fluids from the Vet from 8am to 5pm for 4 days and I bottle fed him. I brought him everywhere.... even the grocery store (don't tell anybody). He finally started doing OK. At five weeks Sam was really lethargic so they brought him over, and he needed surgery at Texas A&M for total blockage of bladder stones! So that was so scary! They were very nervous because he was so little. Seriously, the last thing I wanted at the time was a puppy..... and the very last thing ever that I wanted was two puppies. When Oliver started getting better, I was so happy.... and when Sam came out of his surgery and was just full of energy...... I was ecstatic! They continue to make me so happy everyday! They are four years old now and I should have named them Felix and Oscar! Oliver is Felix... he is a neat freak... he loves his certain toys....after playing with the same toy for a month or so, he won't play with them anymore. Sam is very Oscar..... He doesn't care at all about toys.. he just wants you to pet his belly..... He is always flopping on his back ready for a belly rub! We go to Texas A&M Small Animal Clinic every year for a check up and Sam is all good thus far! |

Everyone has some kind of special issue with their pets. I prefer harnesses to collars, but Oliver has a way of chewing through every harness. In my perfect world, the boys would wear harnesses 24/7 and then be ready to hook up to a leash and go. I'm still searching for that perfect harness.
I also keep my schnauzers cut short because we have a sticker problem in the back yard. I really prefer their look short. The first thing to grow too long is their eyebrows! I was always so afraid to trim them.... but I got over it finally.... and we can go longer between groomings! I still can't cut their nails.... I'm a wimp....
